Account Executive, Ticket Sales & Service - Canton Charge (Canton, OH)

Position Overview:

The Canton Charge (NBA Development League), operated by the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, is seeking an experienced and motivated Ticket Sales and Service Account Executive to maximize revenue through selling and servicing new and existing full memberships, partial plans, groups and premium ticket packages. This is a full-time position, with health insurance and other great benefits. The Charge offices are located in the Canton Memorial Civic Center. 

Responsibilities:

  • Generating new ticket package sales through phone prospecting, outside appointments and building tours. Upselling current partial plan holders to full season ticket packages.
  • Prospecting new ticket package sales opportunities through cold calls, referrals and networking events.
  • Setting meetings with key decision makers of community and corporate groups.
  • Developing professional relationships with current clients for group outing renewals and referral leads. 
  • Providing a high level of service to all accounts including retention of assigned accounts.
  • Staffing ticket sales booths at outside functions including luncheons, business shows, conventions, etc.
  • Must meet all predetermined activity and sales goals.
  • Assisting with creative concepts for production of group sales materials including brochures, flyers and all other support materials.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work all home games.

Requirements:

  • Previous internship or work experience within the sports industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience (ideally with a sports franchise) with a proven track record in a high volume sales environment.
  • Relationship selling experience is a plus.
  • Computer literacy required.

Director of Ticket Sales - Canton Charge (Canton, OH)

Position Overview:

Responsibilities include the direction and day-to-day management of the Canton Charge Ticket Sales and Service team to maximize revenue through the sales of Regular and Premium Memberships, Partial Plans and Group tickets.  Besides meeting team goals, the Director will also be responsible for personal sales goals including account retention and the sales of memberships and group tickets with a focus on Premium inventory. Responsibilities:

Manager of Sales & Service Operations - Cleveland Cavaliers (Cleveland, OH)

Summary: Under the leadership of the Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service, the Manager of Sales and Service Operations will oversee the day to day leadership and management of the Ticket Sales/Suites Operations team.  This will be inclusive of developing a career path, accountability structure, and overall direction when it comes to executing at a high level within our Sales Operations. 

In addition to coordinating several major projects, the Manager of Sales and Service Operations will assist in all facets of our sales executions, inclusive of event support, and leadership/idea generation for innovative strategies in how we interact with our market from a sales and marketing perspective.

Responsibilities:

Manage/Control Budgets – Manage all aspects of the budget process, inclusive of accountability of allocation of resources across all of our budgets (Ticket Sales, Group Sales, Suites, Corporate Partnership and Organizational Business Development).  This is comprehensive of compensation, commissions, bonus, and operating expenses. This person executes all departmental projects and campaigns to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Seasonal Hiring –Lead the Sales and Service Operations Team in the hiring process:  generate candidates, conduct interviews and be a part of the decision making process. 

Sales Execution which include but are not limited to:

  • Platform Development – Work closely on the development and activation of our Wine & Gold United and Wine & Gold nation platforms; managing all benefits provided to Members and premium seat holders. This includes overseeing all campaigns, social media platforms, email deployments, gifting, production needs and game day programs.

  • Relationship Building –Maintain various vendor relationships and daily communication in order to successfully develop and receive purchased product. This person all acts as a liaison between the various Sales teams and all other departments as it relates to the fulfillment of our projects and initiatives including Marketing/Graphics, Digital, Analytics, Sourcing, Facility Operations and Accounting.

  • Plan Special Events – Assist the Manager of Special Events with creating and executing all Sales Events.  Including smaller, segmented events to be planned throughout the course of the year.  Events may be receptions, suite nights, off-site venues, etc.  Planning ways to drive attendees to these events is critical. Events also include internal functions, including kick-off events or team building.

  • Game Day Programs & Client Service – Leads the Sales and Service Operation Specialists with planning and executing all game-day programs for clients, specifically for our Group fan experiential programs and membership programs like Benchwarmers and Team Scout.  Also coordinates the set-up and programming for Membership Headquarters on game nights.

  • Assist Suite Services – Help develop and manage a first-class service program for all premium seating partners and suiteholders ensuring the activation of all benefits and service initiatives.

  • Seat Relocation Day – Plan and execute the upgrade process, which includes an event or series of events that have clients coming down to the arena to secure different seat locations.  Management of this event involves serving as the main point of contact between all internal teams needed to facilitate event and communicate process to all Wine & Gold United Members.

  • Wine and Gold United Website – Work with our web team to ensure information on our membership site is timely, accurate and attractive to members.  Work to organize feedback from clients and team members to make constant improvements.  Also work to generate a quarterly newsletter based off content on the WGU website.

  • Wine and Gold United Communication – Coordinate with Database Marketing Team to manage what emails are deployed to membership base, including but not limited to exclusive announcements, invites to events, special promotions and Corporate Partner offers.

  • Re-Enrollment Process Assistance – Provide support during the re-enrollment period to the Membership Development Team by being directly involved in the internal flow of communication to help in finding the most efficient way for the team to operate during this hectic time of the business. This person will also play an intricate role in our “Cheers2WGU” Campaign.

  • Additional Support of Ticket Sales Team – Develops, orders and manages departmental promotional items, holiday gifting, autograph inventory, swag and collateral.

Development of the Sales and Service Operations Team Members- Create, establish, and grow the Operation Team Members by creating career paths for each and placing into effect Career Development Plans.  This piece will be vital to the continued growth of this Team.

Experience/Education/Additional Requirements:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and additional four-plus years of related experience.   Individual must possess the desire to grow their career in professional sports in sales or marketing; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to exercise initiative and work independently and with others with little or no supervision; Must be detail oriented with the ability to handle a number of responsibilities at the same time; Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.; Must be able to work events and Cavaliers games beyond normal business hours.

QTV delivers the most dynamic and ground-breaking creative content to drive game presentation, marketing campaigns, web/digital video content, and team-driven broadcast initiatives for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters, Cleveland Gladiators, Canton Charge, and other key properties and projects housed in Quicken Loans Arena.

We are looking for a motion graphic designer/editor to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of design and motion and a passion for entertainment and sports. This position is within the Cavaliers’ marketing team, and works on a wide array of projects, including graphics and animation content for the video boards, court and rink projection, digital signage, LED ribbons, and broadcast graphics.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating storyboards for graphics.
  • Audio editing and sound design.
  • Post-production, editing, compositing and special effects.

Position Overview:

With a goal of exceeding the expectations of our Wine & Gold United Members/Season Ticket Holders through proactive service, anticipation of needs and delivery of a superior product in order to maximize retention and revenue, our Membership Development Specialists will take the lead on all aspects of client retention, upselling, cross-selling and customer service. The Membership Development Specialist will strive to build customer loyalty and satisfaction by delivering unique experiences, creating relationships through personal touchpoints and by providing clear and consistent communication with integrity to secure our clients long term commitment to, and confidence in, our organization. Leveraging this customer loyalty by implementing relationship-based selling techniques will be critical in generating incremental ticket sales/suite revenue from client base. Our Membership Development Team will be measured by the ability to create, implement and execute retention and incremental ticket sales and revenue programs that will be viewed as some of the best practices in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Solely responsible for gaining account bases’ annual renewal commitment and being able to overcome all objections associated with the renewal including price/investment/value concerns, usage problems, direction of the team issues, seat location concerns, loss of partners and any other issues.
  • Achieve overall ticket and revenue client renewal and retention goals for personal membership account base as assigned by the Manager of Membership Activation. Main focus will be on finding the most efficient and effective strategies to secure renewals from first and second year Wine & Gold United members and also members in Loudville (upper level).
  • Main focus on upselling, cross-selling current season ticket base on additional Wine & Gold United memberships, partial plans, group programs, MAC Tournament packages, AHL Hockey Programs, Cleveland Gladiators and Quicken Loans Arena Luxury Suites. Relationship selling skills will be key in this process.
  • Acquire qualified referrals from season ticket base in order to maximize additional revenue opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, enhance and strengthen relationships with our Wine & Gold United members– including their family, friends, clients, employees and guests.
  • Proactively communicate with and anticipate the needs of our customers by being an expert on the products and services offered by the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena.
  • Provide unique and personalized experiences for all of our clients. Increase customer loyalty with each of these interactions by becoming a “concierge” for your client and giving them “what they want” and providing them with experiences that they would never expect.
  • Responsible for managing own client Touchpoint program which will consist of courtesy phone calls, in-office visits, in-arena visits and interactions at special events. Sharing great stories and experiences on how you made an impact with your accounts will be critical.

  • Work with the membership development team in ensuring a smooth account transition process from the rep that sells the account to the Membership Activation team who will inherit and service the account.
  • Consistently, genuinely and enthusiastically answer incoming phone calls and emails on items such as game night questions, member benefit questions, customer profile changes, account balances, etc.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve unusual/adverse situations using a quick response approach and make sound decisions based on available information. Use logical thinking and provide practical solutions based on the current situation presented.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of two years of successful sales, preferably in ticket sales.

The QTV team is obsessed with creating the most dynamic and ground-breaking creative content to drive game presentation activation, marketing campaigns, video web/digital content and team-driven broadcast initiatives for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  These projects are in support of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland Monsters, Cleveland Gladiators, Canton Charge, and other key properties and projects as defined throughout the year.

The QTV Senior Producer, Arena Video Projects & Events is a motivated individual, playing a leadership role in driving innovation and creative direction throughout the QTV team members and for QTV projects. 

Event Presentation -- The senior producer is the representative for QTV and the Quicken Loans Arena for all outside events.  This person creates meaningful content to enhance events, ensures outside content meets Quicken Loans Arena standards, and is delivered on-time to be tested for overall quality. This senior producer will direct all non-gameday events inside and outside of Quicken Loans Arena and ensure that fans and guests have the best visual experience possible.

Arena Video Project Productions -- This senior producer is a person that must have a passion to seek out the most innovative video techniques, trends and ideas and be able to bring those ideas to life within the QTV team for the organization. This person is highly experienced in directing and managing successful multimedia productions from concept thru writing, storyboarding, shooting, directing, producing, editing, final delivery.

Team Member Support -- This senior producer has a leadership role in enhancing quality video production processes, skills and efficiencies.  This is accomplished by developing, evaluating and upgrading the high quality content that is produced by the QTV team and our third-party partners. Responsibilities:

Event Production

  • Can direct and/or produce any and all of the non-gameday events (events other than Cavs, Monsters & Gladiators) for Quicken Loans Arena properties on and off-site.
  • Non-gameday events include the MAC tournament, Harlem Globetrotters, Monster Jam, local music events, arena rentals, charity events, on & off-site meetings and many other events.
  • Actively seeks cross-training opportunities to ensure depth at across all properties at the director position.
  • Prioritizes fan-interaction and memorable implementation of in-arena/in-venue moments that take place from the second the doors open, until the last fan has left.  Amazing fan experiences that positively emphasize our shows, our brands, our partners and our community is our focus.
  • Expert in managing ANC LED content. Meets with outside vendors/partners and provides personalized QTV/LED content guide built specifically for their show.

  • Serve as main client contact for assigned projects; coordinate tasks and responsibilities with other producers to ensure higher quality and timely project completion.
  • Projects include concept development for all Quicken Loans Arena organizations’ creative in-arena, on broadcast, web, marketing and any other QTV creative.
  • Perform shooting and editing for video projects for both internal and external clients and mentors fellow shooters and editors to ensure best practices.
  • Projects require effective leadership within concept development, storyboarding, storytelling, scripting, production planning, shooting, editing, post-production, and finalizing content for final and approved distribution.
  • Overall knowledge in video production is mandatory with ability to know when to tactfully offer on-the-spot correction or one-on-one mentorship.
  • Can identify key areas where QTV can save time and recommend correct processes to make QTV run more efficiently.
  • Can manage production schedules for self as well as team members under supervision.
  • Able to manage multiple projects across the organization and communicate with stakeholders on progress of all productions.
  • Effectively communicate estimated time to complete projects including a breakdown of key milestones and hours for each phase of project.
  • Brings forward and upholds quality control measures to ensure 100% accountability and zero pre-production errors across the QTV team. 
  • Researches and recommends new equipment that can help QTV operate at a higher level and create amazing products with greater efficiency.
  • Works closely with all departments at Quicken Loans Arena and recommends products that will enhance their ability to accomplish organizational goals.

Team Member Support

  • Leader in QTV’s development to promote all possible assets across all properties. Plays a leadership role in cross promoting ticket sales and brand initiatives across all other properties and arena events. Work in tight partnership with the team marketing groups to support and uplift the concept development and full activation of major ticket sales campaigns, as well as key games and promotions.
  • Directly oversees small production staff, providing guidance, time management, leadership, and mentorship.
  • Provides QTV director/senior producers with advice and always communicates feedback to ensure QTV continually progresses and is the best it can be in professional entertainment.
  • Proactively supports internal teams to maintain a successful partnership with QTV.
  • Effectively connects QTV teammates with organizational messages/initiative and promotes/encourages QTV team member ideas to be up channeled and distributed to other team members across the organization.
  • Works with QTV project manager to distribute projects within this senior producer’s specialty.
  • Ensure that all individuals are creating products that meet the quality standards of QTV and are done efficiently.
  • Work with QTV director and senior producers to ensure adequate brainstorming, team building and training is occurring on a regular basis.
  • Create an environment of open communication and sharing of ideas not only within QTV but within Quicken Loans Arena family and Family of Companies.

Additional Duties

  • Leader and ambassador for QTV to rest of organization and Family of Companies.
  • Prioritize superior client services skills and the ability to function well within a team environment.
  • Prioritize a leadership role in the development of the QTV team. 
  • Focus on supporting the growth of quality, depth and capabilities of our production team, enhancing our creative capabilities and driving innovation.
  • Research, recommend and conduct training to QTV team members in areas of expertise as needed.
  • Develop strong vendor relationships that support game day initiatives, including third-party production partnerships and new technology partnerships, among others.
  • Promote the overall high expectation of quality for all QTV productions.
  • Initiate and develop relationships across the organization to fulfill other internal team’s video needs. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the QTV Director of Video and Senior Vice President of Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer.

Requirements:

  • Advanced college coursework, degree, or comparable experience in video production preferred. 
  • Good knowledge of Adobe applications.
  • Expert knowledge of editing on Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, or Edius.
  • 5-8 years of experience in professional sports game presentation.
  • 5-8 years of experience in working in live sports video production.
  • 5-8 years of experience in non-linear video concepting/editing/production environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience creating motion graphics for broadcast and/or web projects.
  • General knowledge of motion graphics including rotoscoping, keying, tracking, and compositing.
  • Exceptional knowledge of various cameras and audio equipment. 
  • Knowledge of video compression and uploading video to the internet. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Proficient in social media and current popular trends.
  • Excellent knowledge of file delivery systems. 
  • Must have an open and creative mind with a keen eye for design and storytelling.
  • Production etiquette and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Possess excellent writing and copy editing skills.
  • Effectively able to work under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently as well as in a team environment. 
  • Ability to work long hours as needed and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and late nights, as needed, to support the needs of a major professional sports organization. 
  • Knowledge of live event production is necessary.  
  • Knowledge of the NBA, AHL, AFL and sports in general is a plus.
