Position Overview:

QTV is the award-winning in-house video production team for the Cleveland Cavaliers family of companies at Quicken Loans Arena. 

QTV delivers the most dynamic and ground-breaking creative content to drive game presentation, marketing campaigns, web/digital video content, and team-driven broadcast initiatives for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters, Cleveland Gladiators, Canton Charge, and other key properties and projects housed in Quicken Loans Arena.

We are looking for a motion graphic designer/editor to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of design and motion and a passion for entertainment and sports. This position is within the Cavaliers’ marketing team, and works on a wide array of projects, including graphics and animation content for the video boards, court and rink projection, digital signage, LED ribbons, and broadcast graphics.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating storyboards for graphics.
  • Audio editing and sound design.
  • Post-production, editing, compositing and special effects.
  • Transcoding, encoding, authoring, uploading and archiving of media files.
  • Quality control of projects from concept to completion.
  • Assisting in game day production responsibilities which will frequently require working nights and weekends.
  • Identifying hardware, software and new techniques to remain on the leading edge of technology in video and other motion-based media development.

Video Production

  • Create graphics and animated content for the video boards, court and rink projection, digital signage, LED ribbons, and broadcast graphics.
  • Drive innovation for marketing projects, game entertainment and the game/team experience by creating ideas and supporting a collaborative atmosphere that nurtures such thought. 
  • Participates and brings new ideas and techniques independently as well as during designated brainstorm sessions.
  • Works with teammates to ensure that content is completed on time, exceeds QTV quality and meets specific team branding standards.
  • Seeks training and feedback, encourages others to do the same.
  • Actively seek solutions and work to streamline any and all processes across QTV.
  • Supports QTV colleagues and senior producers by assuming any task to help them complete any and all projects.
  • Contribute new perspectives and ideas on how to improve QTV. This includes organization, video production, storage, efficient management of time and any other areas that can be improved.
  • Continual research of current events, pop-culture events, music trends and trending topics… and the ability to put those ideas to action quickly.

Game Presentation

  • Understands studies and provides feedback on video elements that are integrated in front of a live audience.
  • Understands the NBA, AHL and AFL as well as providing creative ideas on how to integrate pop culture into Quicken Loans Arena events.
  • Frequently acts as game night producer/game night assistant on designated event nights.
  • Attends events with the intent to find new ways to entertain the fans of Cleveland and provide feedback.
  • Ability to step in and perform tasks as needed, including assuming any role on the QTV game night staff.
  • Consistently thinks about how to cross-promote all Quicken Loans Arena organizations across all events and platforms.
  • Be leader in innovation for game entertainment and the fan experience through concept development and delivery of entertainment and energy-driving content to run in-arena, including graphics, videos, features, skits, and projection.
  • Works with all team members to constantly and tirelessly strive for better processes, better results and better success in any and all areas in which QTV operates.

Additional Duties

  • Provides creative production support for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters, Cleveland Gladiators, Canton Charge, and other key properties and projects for Quicken Loans Arena.
  • Prioritizes a supportive role in the development of the QTV team.
  • Focuses on supporting the growth of quality, depth and capabilities of our production team, enhancing our creative capabilities and driving innovation.
  • Provides and conducts training to QTV team members in areas of expertise as needed.
  • Promotes the overall high expectation of quality for all QTV productions.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities to ensure successful management of QTV resources.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Senior Producer of Creative Content and Director of Video.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, motion graphic design, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years working in a professional design-focused setting.
  • Photoshop and After Effects mastery with proficiency in other Adobe Creative applications.
  • Cinema4D proficiency
  • Solid understanding of editing techniques and Adobe Premiere.
  • Strong sense of motion, visual design and typography.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Positive attitude and ability to take direction.
  • Exceptional work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously under strict deadlines.
  • Direct, shoot, produce and assist on-location shoots with players, fans and actors.

This is a temporary position that requires the ability to work 40 hours per week, including game nights.

Position Overview:

The QTV Production Team is looking for a highly motivated, creative individual to assist the QTV and Marketing team.  This individual will assist on all aspects in the grand spectrum of sports production; in-arena, broadcast, marketing and web projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Fulfilling various requests for digital copies of footage and finished videos.
  • Keeping work areas stocked with both pertinent video and office supplies.
  • Keeping work areas neat and orderly.
  • Assuming the duties as production assistant on various shoots.
  • Producing quality graphics for use in-game, web, broadcast, duplication requests and/or misc.
  • Shooting and producing for use in-game, web and broadcast and/or misc.
  • Game night duties (could be used in any and all aspects of a live event)
  • Editing a product for use in-game, web, broadcast and/or miscellaneous projects.
  • Working as the best possible teammate to support all QTV team members and their projects.

This seasonal position will involve all levels of production and will vary day to day. Professionalism, work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn will determine how much responsibility the QTV seasonal will earn of the course of a semester of work. This position is open everyone including those trying to earn college credit.

  • Works with Ticket Sales, Analytics, and Partnerships teams to develop promotional item calendar and launch promotional strategies to enhance the Fan experience and drive ticket sales.

CONCOURSE EXPERIENCE OVERSIGHT

  • Guides and supports direct report in the following areas:
    • Cavaliers’ concourse Fan experience design and overall strategy:
      • Provides oversight in the creation of interactive concepts that support team brand and Fan activation plans. 
      • Proactively shares plans/opportunities with the Partnerships team for potential partnership agreements. 
    • Game-day concourse activation: Helps with the setup and breakdown of all concourse elements.      
    • “Loudville” concourse innovation and activation: Develops innovative ideas and activates plans to proactively support the Cavaliers “Loudville” brand concept. 
    • Staff management: Assists with part-time staff and third-party vendor management as needed. 
  • Provides support and partners with the Cleveland Monsters, Canton Charge, Cleveland Gladiators, and Quicken Loans Arena (partner properties) to guarantee that best practices and opportunities are activated across all properties. 
  • Other duties will be defined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Responsible for managing all projects on time, and within stated budgets. 
  • Attendance is required at all Cavaliers games; and will be requested at select partner property events.

EVENT MANAGEMENT

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes a variety of Marketing-based in-arena and off-site events, including the Wine & Gold Scrimmage, Watch Parties, Draft Parties, etc.
  • Activates concourse and Fan activation elements for off-site games (when applicable).  Activation includes preparation, general planning, on-site management, coordination with facility operations teams, and successful event activation to meet team marketing goals. 
  • Responsible for managing all projects on time to achieve targeted goals, and within stated budgets.  
  • Attendance is required at all such events.

DIRECT REPORT MANAGEMENT

  • Leads Marketing Coordinator responsible for concourse activation, budget management, seasonal staffing, and other select duties.
  • Ensures goals are understood and helps develop/position the direct report for success.

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Leads Marketing coordinator in charge of managing all daily aspects of the Cavaliers marketing budget, including the creation and approval of purchase orders, weekly maintenance of the Marketing team expense tracking system, and regular communication with the Finance team to address questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintains direct and immediate communication with the Director of Marketing Strategy regarding any budget variances. 

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS TEAM LIAISON

Responsibilities:

  • Main focus on upselling, cross-selling current membership base on additional Wine & Gold United memberships, group programs, MAC Tournament packages, AHL Hockey Programs, Cleveland Gladiators and Quicken Loans Arena Luxury Suites. Relationship selling skills will be key in this process.
  • Acquire qualified referrals from membership base in order to maximize additional revenue opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, enhance and strengthen relationships with our Wine & Gold United members– including their family, friends, clients, employees and guests.
  • Proactively communicate with and anticipate the needs of our customers by being an expert on the products and services offered by the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena.

  • Work with the Business Development Team in ensuring a smooth account transition process from the rep that sells the account to the Membership Development team who will inherit and service the account.
  • Consistently, genuinely and enthusiastically answer incoming phone calls and emails on items such as game night questions, member benefit questions, customer profile changes, account balances, etc.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve unusual/adverse situations using a quick response approach and make sound decisions based on available information. Use logical thinking and provide practical solutions based on the current situation presented.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of two years of successful sales, preferably in ticket sales.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Sales oriented; committed to teamwork and going above and beyond the customers’ expectations.

Main focus will be on finding the most efficient and effective strategies to secure renewals from first and second year Cleveland Monsters Members.
  • Main focus on upselling, cross-selling current season ticket base on additional Monsters memberships, partial plans, group programs, Cleveland Gladiators, MAC Tournament packages and Quicken Loans Arena Luxury Suites. Relationship selling skills will be key in this process.
  • Acquire qualified referrals from season ticket base in order to maximize additional revenue opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, enhance and strengthen relationships with our Monsters Hockey Club members– including their family, friends, clients, employees and guests.
  • Proactively communicate with and anticipate the needs of our customers by being an expert on the products and services offered by Quicken Loans Arena.
  • Provide unique and personalized experiences for all of our clients. Increase customer loyalty with each of these interactions by becoming a “concierge” for your client and giving them “what they want” and providing them with experiences that they would never expect.
  • Responsible for managing own client Touchpoint program which will consist of courtesy phone calls, in-office visits, in-arena visits and interactions at special events. Sharing great stories and experiences on how you made an impact with your accounts will be critical.
  • Propose creative ideas to the team that will enhance all aspects of membership activation culture, including developing new benefit programs, special events and ways to exceed client’s expectations.
  • Enter all Touchpoint and client profile information gathered in our CRM system for reporting, updating and account relationship purposes.
  • Coordinate assigned member events and client experiences including, but not limited to: annual member meeting, member receptions, chalk talks, gift mailings, ticket mailings, renewal mailings, benefit / service booklet design and mailing, seat relocation event, business networking events, rookie events, fence sitter parties, events with coaches/GM/team.
  • Work with the membership development team in ensuring a smooth account transition process from the rep that sells the account to the Membership Activation team who will inherit and service the account.
  • Consistently, genuinely and enthusiastically answer incoming phone calls and emails on items such as game night questions, member benefit questions, customer profile changes, account balances, etc.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve unusual/adverse situations using a quick response approach and make sound decisions based on available information. Use logical thinking and provide practical solutions based on the current situation presented.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Minimum of two years of successful sales, preferably in ticket sales.

  • Superior customer service skills.

  • Sales oriented; committed to teamwork and going above and beyond the customers’ expectations.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and perform relationship based selling.

  • Strong communication, prioritization and organization skills.

  • Prior experience in providing top-level, concierge style customer service and unique experiences in the hotel/resort, restaurant and/or hospitality industries is preferred.

Team Mascot - Game Entertainment (Canton, OH)

JOB SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Team Mascot will be asked to engage the crowd, build energy in the arena and keep the momentum and flow of the game moving. He/She will work every home game, working the crowd and participating in on-court promotions. He/She will also be asked to coordinate and create skits, represent the team at community events and be a real life brand extension of the Canton Charge.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and Perform the character of the Canton Charge mascot.
  • Strong focus on positive fan engagement.
  • Perform at all home games at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
  • Actively train, plan, and prepare for game day presentation.
  • Perform and/or provide support to all necessary community and team appearances. This includes but is not limited to sponsors, charities, media and private functions.
  • Act as an entertainment support system to encourage fan engagement and build Charge brand.
  • Responsible for mascot costume operations including creativity, care, cleaning, maintenance, etc.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Canton Charge Audio Coordinator - Game Entertainment (Canton, OH)

JOB SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Canton Charge Audio Coordinator is a part-time position that will be responsible for managing all of the in-arena sound during games. The Audio Coordinator would set-up the PA and wireless microphones, as well as all game audio needs. This person would also be responsible for prepping, loading, and running all in-game sound and music.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have an understanding of the NBA basketball game and rules in order to tie in music and sound effects
